John Huddleston - Silversmith

Jewellery and silverware

I work mainly in silver using a range of techniques to produce distinctive jewellery and silverware.

I make bangles, bookmarks, boxes, brooches, buckles, candlesticks, chains, christening spoons, cufflinks, earrings, napkin rings, necklaces, pendants, paperknives, rings ... and a whole range of other invaluable items from clothes pegs to silver wishbones. Just look in my Gallery. Some recent commissions are shown here.

I particularly enjoy making pieces that mark or stimulate memories of specific occasions. I don't have stock ranges - almost all I make is unique, either to commission or because I had an idea or wanted to experiment with a technique.

Almost all my work is hallmarked whether it needs to be or not. I think hallmarking is a great tradition and I often use the marks as a feature. For example, see the marks on this belt buckle. My sponsor's mark is registered at the London Assay Office.

I don't keep a large range of made up work. Some of the items in my Gallery are available for sale, so please take a look then contact me.

Some of my work is on sale at Kelso, 41 Stert Street, Abingdon.

Sorry, I don't do valuations, nor do I deal in silver other than my own work.
