Recent work

These examples of my recent work were generally made to commission. See many more examples of my work.

K2B silver charm

I was commissioned to make this silver charm for a charm bracelet. The outline is that of the Lake District bounded by the sea, the M6 to the east and A roads to the North. The slit starts at Keswick and ends at Barrow, as that is the route of the K2B annual walk. A momento for a distance walker.

Fused silver pendant with sapphire

Based on other fused work I have made, a client asked me to make a mount for a cabochon sapphire he already had.

Silver cruck candlestick

This is a silver wedding present - a candlestick based on a cruck frame in the recipient's house.  More detail
Smile in a tree pendant

This is an example of a small collection of items. The other pieces are a pendant and cufflinks. The brief was to produce something with a connection with Oxford. These pieces are all inspired by the smile of the cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland. The full range and more detail.

The jewellery is available at the Oxford University shop. Look under Ladies jewellery.

Abacus

This is a binary abacus.  If you want to learn how to multiply binary numbers then this is the executive toy for you.  Another abacus

Air balloon earrings

Satisfying a request for a pair of earrings that looked like an old style balloon.  Other earrings

Bee brooch

A brooch for a bee keeper.  Fine silver with Keum Boo gold for the abdomen.  Other brooches

Wiggly chain

This chain was made to complement the 'Queen' beetle, though I'm told it is often worn alone.  It has a custom slide clasp and is made from fine silver.  Other chains

DNA bracelet

The design of this bracelet reflects the research interests of the scientist it was a gift for. Each cell in our body contains approximately two metres of DNA which must be intricately packaged and compacted to fit within the cell space. The bracelet represents one way in which DNA (the wire) can be packaged by the formation of looped structures, mediated by protein complexes (the beads). These loops allow long-range interactions between distant DNA sequences which are critical for proper functioning of the genes encoded therein. Other bracelets

50p coin mount

This 50p, one of the ones available towards the end of 2010, has sentimental significance.  I was asked to put it in a mount to be used as a pendant.  The whole job was turned around in about four days including the coin arriving by post.  Other pendants

Commemorative silver pebble

This solid silver pebble is one of six given to remember a well loved father and grandfather. Each pebble weighs well over 100g and so would make an effective paperweight.
